You’re all set! • Photo Gallery: Overturned big rig • Video: 7/30: Overturned big rig A truck carrying a load of pipes overturned Friday morning on the transition from the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway. No one was hurt in the 9:30 a.m. accident. Several lanes of the freeway were closed for about three hours as the truck was righted and the pipes removed. California Highway Patrol Officer Phil Gomez said truck driver Michael Toole of Hesperia was not cited following the accident. The incident was apparently caused by a shifting load in the bed of Toole’s truck, Gomez said. Mike Buntain, a tow truck driver with Jan’s Towing in Azusa, said the interchange is a frequent source of trouble for truckers who tip and spill their loads. – Frank Girardot last_img read more
